It’s no secret that the element of family is a key characteristic at Alta Ridge. We involve you in every aspect of your loved one’s care, alerting you of any changes in your loved one’s health, cognition, care plan, or overall well-being. We also hold quarterly care conferences where we invite you to join us for a formal meeting to discuss every aspect of your loved one’s care with our knowledgeable care team.
We’re also more than just a beautiful home. We strive to make Alta Ridge a place where our residents can enjoy their children, posterity and friends. We encourage our residents to invite their families and friends here to enjoy each other’s company.
In fact, we hold monthly community events where families and residents come together to enjoy food, fun and most importantly—each other. For a more private family experience, we invite you to utilize our private dining room, our courtyards, or one of the many family-friendly rooms located throughout the communities.
Alta Ridge traces its roots back to Guy Mendenhall, who pioneered assisted living beginning in 1983.
Guy’s experience in senior care began when he took full-charge care of his grandmother. After a bad experience in a senior care community, Guy’s mother and father agreed to allow him to provide care for his grandmother in his own home.
From there, Guy’s love for the elderly grew and he soon got involved in foster adult care, which led to six elderly women living with him and his family. Guy and his family enjoyed their senior care tasks; they provided everything for their senior residents including cooking, cleaning, bathing, activities and van rides.
In 1986 Guy opened a larger senior care community, Elderly Manor in Holladay, Utah. The name was later changed to Alta Ridge – Holladay. Guy’s vision of a home-style, senior-care community providing quality, personalized care became a reality.
Today, Alta Ridge Communities is a locally-owned company with local ideals. With owners who are on-site daily and administrators who are available anytime, we commit to quality care from the top down. Any concern that a resident or family member has may be addressed at the highest level and Alta Ridge Communities are very responsive to the needs of our senior residents and their families.
Members of our community belong to what Tom Brokaw called, “The Greatest Generation,” recognized for its unselfish service during the Great Depression, war and later family life. Now we want to care for this generation with the same honor, dignity and love they have always offered others.
Each of you has a wonderful life story. We take pleasure in getting to know you and your family. Our compassionate team members are eager to listen to you, because we are committed to providing the loving, warm, dignified care each resident deserves.
We honor you. We respect you. We love you. We can’t wait to help you feel at home in our community! Contact us today at any of our assisted living communities in Utah for a truly nurturing experience.
